School Mission Statement
Our aim is to provide a caring Christian environment where everyone is special. We all work to ensure that children are happy, safe and secure. We create a stimulating environment where all children can achieve their full potential. We aim to develop the children socially, morally, spiritually and culturally by promoting attitudes of mutual respect and responsibility.
Shared definition of British Values Stockton-on-Tees:-
‘In our inclusive school, we value, seek to understand, and identify potential in everyone. We encourage everyone in our school community to engage in the life of the school and wider community.
We promote values which include: British democracy; the rule of law; individual liberty; respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs (and no faith) – alongside an appreciation and celebration of difference and diversity (reflecting all protected characteristics and social class). We promote rights and accept that with rights come responsibility.
Valuing our cultural heritage, we explore our local, regional and national heritage and British History, both positive and negative – learning from history and taking pride in positive contributions made.’
British Values and St Mary’s
We pride ourselves on our Christian Values of Reverence, Wisdom, Thankfulness, Humility, Endurance, Service, Compassion, Trust, Peace, Forgiveness, Friendship, Justice, Hope, Creation and Koinovia (fellowship or partnership), the impact of which results in a welcoming and caring ethos. Our key values underpin our success and both overlap and underpin the fundamental British values (listed above). Through these values we aim to inspire children, parents, staff and governors to learn and grow together. We enjoy working closely with parents and recognise the importance of establishing strong home/school partnerships. We understand that the health and safety of all our children is of paramount importance so our school provides a safe environment in which our children can flourish, free from prejudice, intimidation and indoctrination.
